Heart-Shaped Strawberry Waffles

These heart shaped strawberry waffles are perfect for Valentine’s Day! Use a cookie cutter or a heart-shaped waffle iron for this sweet pink treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ tsp strawberry extract
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • ¾ cup milk
  • red food coloring
  • Optional: diced strawberries

Instructions

  • Using a mini heart-shaped waffle iron, grease well and allow to preheat.
  • Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add the egg, strawberry extract, milk, melted butter, and 4 drops of red food coloring.
  • Mix with a whisk or a hand-held mixer until thoroughly combined. If including diced strawberries, add them to the batter now.
  • Pour ¼ cup of batter onto the waffle iron and cook until the green light comes back on
    (About 2-3 minutes)
  • Serve with your favorite waffle toppings.
