the ingredients of a gin ginger martini

When I think of ginger as a fall or winter flavor, I always think of drinks. Whether that means ginger tea or a cocktail like this gin ginger martini, I like the little bit of spice that ginger brings to everything.

When Prairie Organic Spirits and I decided to team up again (I made a Cucumber Watermelon Punch for them over the summer), I knew that their gluten-free, organic Gin would be my spirit of choice.

The gin has a distinct, unique, award-winning taste that its distillers and farmers have worked hard to differentiate – just what I look for in a spirit when I make a cocktail.

Prairie Organic Spirits is a true pioneer in this space as one of the first USDA Certified Organic spirits brand, and remains the #1 brand in the organic spirits category.

They know the source of every ear of organic corn that goes into their bottles: Minnesota family farmers who have a commitment to the right process and the right ingredients. They also give 1% back to help more farmers go organic.

How to Make a Gin Ginger Martini

You only need 3 ingredients to make a gin ginger martini:

  • Gin – Prairie Organic Spirits has been my go-to all year because the high-quality organic corn base really gives their spirits a better flavor.
  • Ginger Simple Syrup – you can easily make a homemade ginger simple syrup or buy it at the store.
  • Lemon Juice – *just a little* to balance out the spicy ginger and sweet simple syrup.

Once you are ready to make your drink, add ice and all of the ingredients to a cocktail shaker.

For me, martinis are definitely shaken, not stirred, so after a few really good shakes, strain your ginger martini into a martini glass.

If you decide to go the stirred route, combine all of your ingredients and ice in a mixing glass. Stir for 30 seconds and then strain into the glass.

For garnishes, you can go with a lemon wedge or candied ginger. If you are making your own ginger simple syrup, follow my recipe for making candied ginger with the leftover cooked ginger.

There are so many creative ways to reuse garnishes and leftovers so that you don’t waste them!

Do you think I could replace the ginger simple syrup with ginger liqueur and a basic simple syrup for this ginger martini?
