This adult Mexican chocolate milkshake recipe is a delicious blend of chocolate, cinnamon, chipotle chile powder and Cafe Patron!
I had been holding on to this boozy Mexican chocolate milkshake recipe for a rainy day – this is the perfect drink to forget the rain.
Milkshakes are relatively easy to make. You need a blender and your ingredients and you’re good to go.
Mexican chocolate combines the flavors of chocolate, cinnamon and some kind of hot peppers. Yes, yes, and more yes. To that I added one of my favorite liqueurs – Cafe Patron – and this adult chocolate milkshake recipe was created.
In case you were wondering, this is not a sponsored post – I just have an affinity for Cafe Patron. (I talked about it in my coffee tequila cream cocktail recipe in case you were wondering.)
Hot to Make A Mexican Chocolate Milkshake
Milkshakes are really easy to make. Like, crazy easy.
All of your ingredients go in a blender, you blend them until it’s smooth, and then pour everything into a glass.
This is why they are my favorite dessert!
How To Make This Milkshake Without Alcohol
This recipe is for adults only because of the coffee liqueur. If you would like to make this for kids or adults who don’t want alcohol I recommend substituting the Cafe Patron for 3 ounces of cold coffee.
If you are only making one or two and don’t want to make a full pot of coffee, use instant coffee or espresso.
Ingredients
- 3 cups vanilla ice cream
- 2 teaspoon cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon chipotle chili powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 ounces coffee tequila
- whipped cream
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients except for the whipped cream in a blender and blend until smooth.
- Top with whipped cream.
