This chocolate raspberry martini is a piece of cake to make and perfect for celebrating birthdays! Made with just 3 ingredients.
July means birthdays over here at H&B headquarters. The celebration starts with my sister-in-law M’s birthday in the beginning of the month.
Then there is a crazy birthday explosion, starting today. It is my mother-in-law AND my other sister-in-laws birthday today. Mine is tomorrow and my step-mom’s birthday is two days after that.
That is A LOT of birthdays all at once.
Since my birthday is tomorrow (!!) we are going to celebrate here today with an easy cocktail recipe. That’s what you should do for your birthday, right?
The easy cocktails are my favorite. Making them takes so little work and leaves plenty of time to relax, or celebrate in our case.
Now don’t get me wrong. I love making homemade simple syrups and more complicated drinks.
There is an art form to making them – the muddling, mixing and straining in just the right amounts.
But every once in a while, I want to have a fun cocktail that I can make quickly. Enter the chocolate raspberry martini.
Chocolate Raspberry Martini
I know that I have done a bunch of sponsored cocktail posts recently but this one just uses some of my favorite ingredients without a single request from a spirits company.
You start with vodka. That’s pretty straightforward. I have vodkas I like but no clear-cut favorite so whichever vodka you like best.
Then I use two of my favorite liqueurs.
First, Godiva chocolate liqueur because it has just the right amount of chocolate and sweetness. Second, Chambord because I love being able to add that delicious black raspberry flavor without having to make simple syrup.
Put all of your ingredients in a cocktail shaker with a little ice and shake, shake, shake. Seriously, shake it like your next birthday depends on it.
Then strain it into a martini glass (or if you’re clumsy a rocks glass…) and garnish with some fresh fruit.
Believe me, this chocolate raspberry martini is a better way to celebrate than with a piece of cake. And its a piece of cake to make!

Hi! When I made this drink, it came out kinda frothy. I made it with 2 ounces of each liqour, added ice and I thought I did a pretty good job of shaking it But it still came out frothy. Any ideas why??

Great idea 4 dessert martini...1of MY FAV FLAVOR COMBOS TOO! However, Jenny, u didn't give any ratios of the 3 ingredients. Should I've assumed 1:1:1 (1.5 oz. shot glass) of each? Please clarify...thank you.

I like it. We have homegrown raspberries in season right now, so that seems like the perfect excuse to make this drink this Friday evening - those raspberries would be the perfect garnsih.
